Waggytail Rescue
www.waggytailrescue.com ; waggytailrescue@gmail.com
Waggytail does not have a shelter. All of their adoptable dogs live in foster homes.
Founded in 2002, Waggytail is the only rescue group in the city that specializes in small dogs. Their mission is to place dogs that have been abandoned in foster homes, and to provide any medical care and/or training they may need before finding permanent homes for them.
At any given time, 12 to 15 dogs are available for adoption through Waggytail.
Waggytail searches area shelters for small dogs that, in most cases, have been abandoned by their owners.
Ranges from $100 to $250 depending on the age and health status of the dog. Your new dog will be spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated.
The dogs that are available for adoption can be viewed on Waggytail's website. If you see a dog that you would like to adopt, fill out the on-line application and email it to Waggytail. You'll be contacted to make an appointment to meet the dog.
You have to be over 22 and have a valid i.d. Any pets you have in your household must be fixed and up-to-date on all their vaccinations. Everyone in your home, including roommates, must agree to the adoption. You will have to sign an adoption contract pledging to care for your new dog properly.
Waggytail is supported by the adoption fees it charges and by donations.
