| Named "Best Place to Ogle Others' Dogs" by the Village Voice, this is one of urbanhound's favorite dog runs. Recently renovated, this run is rarely crowded, always clean, and the dog owners here keep to themselves. |

Thanks to the Friends of Union Square Dog Run, this run has undergone a total renovation. It's got a new surface, fence, benches, water source, and bulletin board. The group continues to maintain the run. For more information, visit the run's website at www.uniondog.org.

| A group of local dog people formed the Stuyvesant Park Dog Owners Group (SPOG) and after much hard work and determination convinced the neighborhood association and the Parks Department to allow a quasi dog run here. Created in late September 2002, this "run" is actually a section of the park (on the west side of 2nd Ave) that is cordoned off for a few hours each day with gates purchased by SPOG members and overseen by volunteers who set up and take down the gates twice a day, every day. Hours are Mon. to Fri. 6 AM to 10 AM and Saturday and Sunday 6 AM to noon. For more information or to become a member of SPOG or to volunteer, visit SPOG's website. |
