Looking for the City's best hound shops? urbanhound's secret shoppers spent weeks talking to dog owners and visiting stores.
We were demanding customers. In every store we visited, we asked for guidance on caring for our aging Lhasa Apso or our sensitive new puppy. We feigned ignorance. We took notes.
We excluded from our survey all stores that sell dogs; those stores keep puppy mills in business. And we eliminated PetCo and Petland Discounts, not because we don't shop at both frequently (we do!), but because this list is about stores that are idiosyncratic. – Bridget Hodge + Elise Gelbard
